Climate Action Chef at Iceland Summit

Forage and cook at Iceland's northern most tip for the Future Food Institute and United Nations climate action warriors?

YES!!

I reason that if we're all underwater, everything else we love and advocate for it, well, sunk too, right?

In the summer of 2019, I rocked snow boots into JFK airport in 90 degree weather to get on a plane to a place that will surely stay with me forever, and let's just say,  it was a VIBE.

WHO?

HELP USA was founded in 1986 by now-Governor Andrew Cuomo to address the nation's growing homelessness crisis. From a beginning as a shelter for families in Brooklyn, HELP USA has expanded to become a national leader in the fight against homelessness. To date, they have helped over 500,000 people facing symptoms of homelessness and poverty.

Partnership

Connecting the United States arm of our charity A Better Life Foundation to HELP USA, through this partnership, I execute culinary education initiatives for residents in East New York. We hosted our first "Sharpen Up" event, a new ABLF USA programming initiative where we facilitate a cooking workshop at North Brooklyn Farms.

In January 2020 ABLF USA answered the request of HELP USA residents and put together an onsite cooking workshop at Genesis Homes.

During the COVID19 crisis, my team and I responded by creating and disseminating affordable recipes via social media.
